This interactive exhibit explores what lead to the invention of Kool-Aid and how it become an international product that is still popular today.

Groundwater Discovery Adventure

Discover the importance of groundwater on the Central Plains in the hands-on exhibit, including a paleontology dig site, water works station, Plains Indians settlement and an 1857 Nebraska log cabin.

Bird Habitat Dioramas and Serial Bird Collection

From the birds that use the Central Flyway and Rainwater Basin to the permanent inhabitants, the dioramas and serial bird collection offer a close up look at the birds that can be seen in Nebraska at various times of the year. You can see Whooping and Sandhill cranes in their natural habitat as well as several extinct species of birds such as the passenger pigeon.

Traveling in Style: Antique Vehicles

From horse-drawn buggies to horseless carriages, this exhibit provides an intriguing look at the vehicles that have moved us for more than a century. This exhibit includes a homemade bicycle, the first hearse in Adams County, and the 1912 Rauch and Lang automobile with an 80 volt electric motor.

 

Coin Room

Featuring historic and rare coins from around the world, the Coin Room began as the result of a donation from the extensive personal collection of Ben Richards and has grown to include several hundred pieces today.
