Nat Geo’s Photo Ark Docks in Hastings

Florida Panther

Opens February 5

National Geographic photographer and Nebraska native Joel Sartore started the Photo Ark in 1985. This archive of intimate and stunning portraits includes birds, fish, mammals, reptiles, amphibians and invertebrates. To date, Sartore has visited over 40 countries and photographed more than 6,000 species to inspire people to care and help protect these animals.

“It is folly to think that we can destroy one species and ecosystem after another and not affect humanity. When we save species, we’re actually saving ourselves.”

— Joel Sartore
