Alien Adventure
September 10, 2008 - June 1, 2009An alien spacecraft lands in the middle of “Adventure Planet,” a hi-tech amusement park that is not yet open to the public. To determine if they should establish a permanent base on this newfound planet, the aliens explore the park in this new giant screen film premiering at the Lied Super Screen Theatre on Tuesday, September 9. Alien Adventure is sponsored by Charter Media. For hundreds of years the Glagoliths, a small tribe of wayward space gypsies, have roamed the Universe in search of a new home, their previous planet having been obliterated through operator error. In time they came upon Earth and at long last the travel-weary aliens believed they had found a suitable new home. Before establishing a permanent base on Earth, Cyrillus, the supreme leader of the Glagoliths, deemed it wise to launch manned probes to evaluate the world below. A good idea, except they landed not in the center of a modern metropolis as anticipated, but instead in the middle of “Adventure Planet,” a new hi-tech amusement park not yet open to the public. High above the Earth’s surface, Cyrillus and the crew of the Glagolithian mothership monitor the adventures of their brave comrades on the surface as they explore the unique areas of “Adventure Planet.” The aliens sample the attractions: “Aqua Adventure,” an underwater ride where the aliens swim with dolphins and come face to face with sharks; “Magic Carpet,” an underground escapade with dungeons, dragons and a genie in a bottle; “Kid Coaster” and “Arctic Adventure,” fast paced roller coasters that prompt the same response from the aliens as they do from humans. It quickly becomes obvious that the Glagolith explorers on the planet surface have not had this much fun in a long, long time. Unlike most giant screen films which mix science and education with spectacular visuals, Alien Adventure aims to be one of the very first giant screen films aimed exclusively at the entertainment market. Director Ben Stassen calls Alien Adventure “a theme park drama” and inserted the following warning at the beginning of the film:
