Coin Program and Appraisals

Join us to learn more about coins, and bring up to three of your own coins to get them appraised! We’re hosting Tom Bassett, a Hastings native who currently resides in Lincoln, Ne. He is a past president of both the Lincoln Coin Club and the Nebraska Numismatic Association. Governor Mike Johanns appointed Basset to the Nebraska quarter design committee in 2002. He is is a former auctioneer and for 40 years has been a member of the New England Appraisers Association.
— Saturday, October 16, from 2-4 pm in the Abbott Room
— Basset will give a presentation on the history of coins and pass around different examples of them.
— At the end, he’ll appraise up to three coins per person. He will stay until everyone’s coins have been appraised.

A little history on Tom: In 1993 he conducted what is likely the largest antique appraisal in the history of Nebraska when he appraised Pioneer Village in Minden And … his father is Roy Bassett, a well-known teacher and coach in Hastings and was a member of coin clubs in Hastings, Grand Island, and Minden.
