NEOWISE—the brightest comet visible from Earth in 23 years–is gracing the morning and evening skies in Hastings this week and across the world. It’s getting brighter each night and is already visible in the night sky to the unaided eye. You can find it quite low in the northwest after twilight ends. It reaches its closest point to Earth on July 22. After that it will continue to fade more, but get higher in the evening sky.
Join us for a free outdoor viewing event July 21 at 9:45 pm. Bring your own binoculars or telescope to get a better view. Let’s learn more about NEOWISE. No registration needed, just meet us at Brickyard. There will be plenty of room to keep socially distant from other sky viewers. See you there!
