Enjoy some cardio dance fun and learn a little history. Why? Cuz its the Year of Fun and Games at the Museum! Each session will begin with a warm up, followed by some instruction. The focus is on the fun! Each week will have a slightly different focus:
— Cotton Eyed Joe: a wedding dance favorite from the 1800s
— Sister Kate: Some Charleston fun from the 1920s
— Review Cotton Eyed Joe & Sister Kate
— Land of 1,000 Dances, Wilson Pickett from 1966. You’ll learn the Pony, Mashed Potato, the Watusi and more!
— The chorus from Michael Jackson’s Thriller (1982, 40th anniversary!)
— We’ll practice all that we learned!
PLEASE NOTE: This event will take place on the Museum’s patio, but the Museum will be closed. Please bring your own water bottle. The Museum’s restrooms will not be available. All ages are welcome, kids 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
