Janie York is a Humanities Nebraska speaker from Omaha who will join us for a presentation that pairs perfectly with one of our summer exhibits: Art in Stitches. This program begins with stories about the men and women who helped shape Nebraska’s early quilt history and continues with a discussion of quilting as both a form of artistic expression and a storytelling medium in our own culture. The program also demonstrates quilting as a method of recording family history.
This is a family program! All are welcome and children are encouraged to attend.
This program is FREE, but an RSVP is required, (402) 461-2399.
Call today, program will be limited to 30 participants.
York’s presentation will include stories about quilts to help connect the topic to children. She may also include a block quilting activity. Don’t miss this interactive presentation! And don’t forget to catch our newest exhibit Art in Stitches!
