Hey preschoolers! Bring your favorite adult to Preschool Playday at Hastings Museum! And guess what? Preschool Playday is free for Museum Members or with regular Museum admission!
Please RSVP at least 24 hours in advance. Contact Visitor Services at 402.461.4629, option zero, or at email@example.com. Preschool Playday is scheduled on the second Saturday of each month. It begins at 10:00 and lasts about 45 minutes.
Date: Saturday, September 13, 10-10:45
The world is full of amazing insects that have unique adaptations, such as the firefly. Learn about fireflies; listen to an online narration of Eric Carle’s book, “The Very Lonely Firefly”; and create your own firefly craft along with the help of your favorite adult.
Date: Saturday, October 11, 10-10:45
Theme: Room on the Broom
Rhymes, and spells, and brews, oh my! Young witches and warlocks will learn how to create rhymes that are perfect for spells, and make magical brews that fizzle and bubble. After training is complete and all the spells are cast, preschoolers and their favorite adult are invited to watch the movie based on the book, “Room on the Broom,” in our super screen Theatre. Please Note: If you choose to stay for the film, an additional fee applies.
Date: Saturday, November 8, 10-10:45
Theme: Falling Fall Leaves
Ever wonder why the fall leaves show such a beautiful variety of coloration just before they drop from the trees? In this class children will learn about how photosynthesis and the changing of seasons play a vital role. Children will venture outside (weather permitting) to collect “flat nature” to create their own nature scenes.
Date: Saturday, December 13, 9-11
Theme: Breakfast and Santa
So much fun and great crafts for the kids.
