NatureNook140_doneExplore Nebraska’s environments up close: prairies, wetlands, rivers, agricultural habitats, and more! Real animal mounts. Custom murals. Interactive stations for the kids. And facts and fun around every corner. Experience an interactive journey through the natural environments of Nebraska.

New! We just added a whole new herd of high-quality Folkmanis plush puppets. All of the puppets selected are animals that live in Nebraska and they’re realistically depicted. Here’s just part of the list: racoon, red fox, bobcat, black-footed ferret, bison, bat, rabbit, owl, porcupine, beaver, otter, deer, fawn, skunk, and grasshopper. Stop in and play!

Everyone’s favorite: Kids can pop-up onto the prairie for an eye-to-eye experience with animals that hide in the tall grasses.

There’s More: While the Nature Nook focuses on connecting with kids, Hastings Museum features three-floors of exhibits. We’re the largest municipal museum between Chicago and Denver. We also boast a Planetarium with live and full-dome shows Friday-Sunday, and a Super Screen Theatre. Enjoy large format educational films, as well as Hollywood favorites and special films to add seasonal fun. (We’re currently offering White Christmas, Nutcracker: The Motion Picture, and Bruce Springsteen’s Western Stars (PG).
