Summer Fun Classes
Each year in June and July, the Museum hosts a selection of classes for kids that focus on art, history, and science. The schedule is announced in the spring of each year, and Members are offered early sign-up. Fees vary by class, and scholarships are available. Checkout out our Summer Fun 2024 schedule of classes!
Kool-Aid Days
In August each year, the city of Hastings celebrates Kool-Aid Days. As the home of the Kool-Aid Discover the Dream exhibit, the Museum takes part in that celebration. It offers free activities and Kool-Aid, and discounted prices on admission and movies all weekend. This year’s celebration will take place Aug. 16-18. That’s the same weekend as the Oregon Trail Rodeo. Many families also stop by our store that weekend to see what Kool-Aid items have debuted on shelves. Plan today to join in on the fun!
Solar Observing
Out of this world fun is held on the third Saturday of each month from 11 am – Noon. Join us for an opportunity to use our specially equipped telescope and safely look at the sun. Weather permitting, you’ll see the star at the center of our solar system in rich, rewarding detail. This free program is offered April through September. This program goes on hiatus October through March. No RSVP necessary. Check in at the front desk or meet us on our front patio!
