Member Celebration is the Hastings Museum’s signature summer event and one of the many perks of Museum membership. Each year, Members are invited to enjoy a free themed meal, free activities, and a complimentary Planetarium show while also getting the very first look at our exciting summer exhibit. This special evening is our chance to celebrate and thank our Members and supporters for everything they do to help make the Museum possible.
This year’s Member Celebration takes place on Thursday, June 11 from 4:00-8:00 PM and features an evening full of exploration, entertainment, and discovery inspired by dinosaurs, science, and the universe beyond. Guests can enjoy the opening of our thought-provoking temporary exhibit Sorting Out Race, experience our newest large-format film T-REX, and attend the debut of the Planetarium show Messengers of Time and Space. There will also be a special presenter before each film screening.
The evening includes a free soul food-themed meal served from 5:00-7:30 pm featuring pulled-pork sandwiches prepared by Nebraska Pork Producers, along with fruit salad, vegetables, mac and cheese, and coleslaw. Plus, enjoy ice cream generously donated by Hiland Dairy. Guests can also enjoy live music and festive entertainment from the Jambalaya Pep Band throughout dinner service!

RSVP Information
RSVP is required to attend this special evening and must be completed by Friday, June 6. When RSVPing, please specify the number of adults and children attending. You may RSVP in person, over the phone, or online for added convenience (NEW this year!). Tickets for the T-REX large-format film may be purchased in advance online or the night of the event.
T-REX FILM
Experience the epic story of the world’s most iconic dinosaur in this giant-screen adventure. Featuring stunning CGI and groundbreaking research, T-REX follows the discoveries and expeditions uncovering the life and legacy of Tyrannosaurus rex. Tickets are required and may be purchased online in advance or the night of the event. Film passes may also be used.

SORTING OUT RACE EXHIBIT
Explore this thought-provoking temporary exhibit examining racist imagery found in everyday objects donated to thrift stores across America. Through artifacts and community dialogue, the exhibit encourages conversations surrounding racial stereotypes, historical bias, and race in America today.

MESSENGERS OF TIME AND SPACE
Journey through the cosmos in this immersive Planetarium experience, exploring exploding stars, black holes, gravitational waves, and other powerful cosmic events. Discover the groundbreaking observatories and discoveries changing how we understand our universe. Seating is limited to 48 guests per show and is first-come, first-seated.
