Carla Scheierman

Nearly a native of this area, Carla moved to Hastings on her 6th birthday. In 2002, she graduated Artist of the Year at Hastings College with a Bachelor’s degree in Studio Art. She has worked for the City of Hastings since March 2012 and for Hastings Museum since July 2018. As the Museum’s finance officer, she spends a good deal of her time working with budgets, invoices, payroll, etc. Lucky for the Museum, she also does more than that. Her strong background in art has been a lifesaver. She has installed two murals in the Museum, teaches periodic art courses, and consults almost daily on a variety of visual projects.  Carla and her husband Brad have three kids and an ever-changing assortment of pets. (She loves big dogs!)

     “I have visited, and loved, the Hastings Museum for as long as I can remember,” she said. “In fact, to this day my family visits museums on trips whenever we can. I love to create and organize and am very happy to work in a place where I can do all of that with such great people!”
