Russanne is originally from Seattle, and earned her bachelor’s degree in history from Washington State University. Not wanting to be a classroom teacher, she was drawn to museum studies which led her to a master’s degree in History and Public History from Arizona State University. Russanne has worked with many museums including Heard Museum, Desert Botanical Garden, Arizona State University Museum of Anthropology, Arizona State Capitol Museum, Tempe History Museum, and Arizona State Historic Preservation Office. She came to Hastings Museum in 2007 and works to create and teach programs for school children and the public, as well as develop special programs and events that coordinate with museum features. Russanne is especially fascinated by the period between 1940-1970 due to all the interesting events, people, and changes of those decades.
