Teresa is the Executive Director of the Hastings Museum. She has loved museums since a child on family vacations, but she didn’t become truly fascinated with history until she visited Cahokia Mounds after college and realized she could work in a museum! In her graduate studies at University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Teresa was involved with the numerous organizations including the Buffalo Bill Historical Center, which helped develop her passion for conservation and preservation.
Teresa was one of two Nebraska museum professionals chosen to attend the Connecting to Collections Symposium in Washington D.C, and she is active in the Mountain-Plains Museum Association. Depending on the day, her job may involve booking exhibits or vacuuming a polar bear. Late 1800-early 1900 western settlement and Native American culture, the Civil War, and the rise of Hitler all fascinate her, but she believes history best comes to life outside the classroom and encourages all families to visit museums!
