The Hastings Museum is proud to present a dynamic and engaging all-ages songwriting workshop with The Talbott Brothers designed for aspiring artists and musicians who want to build a successful foundation in today’s ever-evolving music industry. Whether you’re just beginning your musical journey or looking to take your skills to the next level, this session offers valuable insights and hands-on guidance across three core areas: songwriting, the business of music, and social media.

Songwriting:

At the heart of this workshop is the art of songwriting. The Talbott Brothers will guide attendees through the fundamentals of melody, lyric writing, song structure, and musical storytelling. In the workshop, participants will dive into the creative process while gaining practical tips for improving songwriting skills and collaborating with others in the industry.

Business:

Beyond creativity, today’s musicians must also understand the business side of the industry to build lasting careers. This portion of the workshop will cover essential topics like managing finances, reading contracts, protecting your work through copyright, and understanding royalties. The workshop will also dive into strategies for building a sustainable career, including the importance of networking, understanding royalties, and exploring different revenue streams. Social

Media:

In the digital age, a strong online presence can make a significant difference for an emerging artist. The final segment of the workshop will focus on using social media effectively to promote music, connect with fans, and build a personal brand. The workshop will provide practical tips for creating content, growing an online presence, and navigating digital marketing tools to maximize reach and visibility. These three key areas form a well-rounded foundation for navigating the music world, balancing both the creative and business elements essential to succeed. The Talbott Brothers bring real-world experience, insight, and authenticity to the workshop, making it a rare and valuable opportunity for any musician looking to grow.
