Big News about Small Trains
Our newest large format film, Train Time, opens to the public on our super screen October 6. So lately, we’ve had a one-track mind. This train of thought just can’t be derailed. Here’s our announcement: We’re partnering with the Tri-City Model Railroad Association (TCMRA). During the run of the film, TCMRA volunteers will have their model trains running and on display at the Hastings Museum! (see schedule below)
TCMRA is an all-volunteer non-profit organization with 26 members. It builds and operates educational model railroad layouts at the Burlington Station in Grand Island, NE. Their modular layout has been on display at the Nebraska State Fair since 2014. The modular layout is versatile by design but currently has 300 feet of mainline railroad and can grow even larger. The goal of TCMRA is to educate the public about railroads and transportation in a fun and enjoyable manner with model trains.
The TCMRA will be operating their portable N-scale layout for public viewing at the Hastings Museum now through December 2023. The display is free with Museum Membership or paid daily admission. Catch the model trains and the Train Time film for great local outing!
