HASTINGS, Neb. – Just last week, Hastings Museum installed a 6-foot, 200 lbs. statue of the Kool-Aid Man as part of the stunning update to its entrance. Kool-Aid was the brainchild of Hastings resident, Edwin Perkins. The Museum’s Kool-Aid Discover the Dream exhibit explores the life of Perkins and how the brand became and international icon that is still relevant today. Oh yeah!
Stop in this summer! Founded in 1927, Hastings Museum in Hastings, Neb., is the largest municipal museum between Chicago and Denver. Featuring a super screen Theatre and Planetarium, the Museum houses dozens of animal species set in their natural habitats. It also chronicles the history of the early inhabitants of the Nebraska plains and how Kool-Aid, the famous soft drink invented in Hastings, came to be such a success.
